Editorial policy

Grand World Journal aims to make cultural and visual subjects accurate, legible and worth a reader's time. We state what a piece can support, make uncertainty visible and revise the record when needed.

Accuracy and context

Writers are expected to check factual details against suitable sources and to represent the limits of those sources honestly. We take care with dates, terminology, attribution and cultural context. Interpretations are presented as interpretations, not as settled fact, and broad claims about communities are avoided unless they are properly grounded.

Independence and interests

Editorial decisions are made for relevance, clarity and reader value. A commercial relationship does not guarantee coverage or a favourable view. Any relevant relationship that could affect how a piece is read will be disclosed alongside that material.

Corrections

Readers can use the Contact page to flag a possible error, giving the article and detail in question. We assess correction requests, make warranted changes and add a clear note when a material correction alters the substance of a published piece.

Partnerships and illustrations

Paid, commissioned or partner-supported material is labelled clearly where it appears, and kept distinguishable from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when used, they are identified as such and are not presented as documentary evidence.
